Internships

FOX 17 WXMI offers internship opportunities for college undergraduates and graduate students. Because internships are hands-on learning experiences, scholastic credit is required. No monetary compensation will be paid. FOX 17 offers hands-on training internships in;

News – Including assisting with electronic news gathering (ENG and SNG), assignment desk duties and observing and participating with news anchors, reporters and photographers
Sports – Including electronic news gathering (ENG and SNG), watching and logging sporting events, writing and editing sports footage and stories, and observing and participating with sports anchors and photographers
Sales – Research, proposal development and presentation, and developing and servicing advertising clients
 
Internship requirements include:
• Scholastic credit
• GPA of at least 2.5
• Completion of Internship Agreement Form
• Completion of Internship Program Waiver and Release Form
• Mid- and End-Term evaluations
• Submission of experiential summary at end of internship
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• General understanding of television broadcasting
